What Are Your Top/Worst Films Of The Last Year (now 2010)
Seeing as how there are a lot of film buffs here, and the fact that a lot of the movie sites i frequent are doing their Top 5,10 or 20 of the last cinematic year as blockbuster season in the US and Europe draws to a close, i was wondering what the AF'ers find memorable & will be watching over and over again on dvd (and at the cinema) from the stated time period? I was a little shocked i came up with 20+ considering the glut of bad product out there. so in no particular order:
Children Of Men
Little Miss Sunshine
Crank
The Prestige
Grindhouse
Bourne Ultimatun
Pan's Labyrinth
Snakes On A Plane
The Departed
Apocalypto
Black Sheep
Superman Returns
The Descent
Hot Fuzz
Borat
300
Black Snake Moan
Rocky Balboa
Hard Candy
Slither
Stardust
Casino Royale
Half Nelson
Deliver Us From Evil
Children Of Men
Little Miss Sunshine
Crank
The Prestige
Grindhouse
Bourne Ultimatun
Pan's Labyrinth
Snakes On A Plane
The Departed
Apocalypto
Black Sheep
Superman Returns
The Descent
Hot Fuzz
Borat
300
Black Snake Moan
Rocky Balboa
Hard Candy
Slither
Stardust
Casino Royale
Half Nelson
Deliver Us From Evil

Damn, I thought that this would be easy....But some of those movies I consider great in their own right...
Obviously I'm going to be lovin' Superman Returns...But I also loved the hell out of Borat, The Prestige, Casino Royale, The Departed, and 300...I wonder how many of those flicks are on the site, I'll have to download or rent the ones that I haven't seen...
I'm a weird movie watcher...I'll really like a movie, but not want to see it again...I think of all those movies, I've seen The Prestige teice, Casino Royale twice, and Superman Returns every other Friday this summer on cable, lol...
Borat just took me to another level though personality wise, and I just can't fucking believe some of the stuff I saw and heard on that movie...

oh yeah. there are some instant classics there for sure.
Snakes i think is the modern equivalent of Rocky Horror in that you watch it with a group of friends & whoop & holla @ the cliches & cheese.
Superman Returns would have made Reeves proud. watched that many a time now. it's sad that a lot of folks didnt appreciate it (Ang's Hulk too) as a MOVIE in its own right cos they've been conditioned to expect loud boring crap like Daredevil ,The Punisher & Elektra. pisses me off though that the DVD did not include the fully finished & scored 'return to kryton' scene Singer often mentioned.
if Craig can pull off 2 more Bond flicks the same as Casino Royale,he'll be on par with Connery.
The Prestige is so overlooked & underrated. glad somebody else digs it. Scarlett with a cockney accent does strange & wonderful things to me btw.
300 & Pan's were off da heezy. not quite as ill as Sin City in it's look, butt not far from it either.
Borat is up there with some of Eddie Murphy's classics already. ditto for 05's 40 Year Old Virgin.
Lil Miss Sunshine restored my faith in American indie films.
Crank & The Departed are gangster gems no question.
Grindhouse was way cool.
Deliver Us From Evil is one of the best documenty films ever bar none. more peeps need to see this.

300 wins it hands down. There was no movie that was better than that. I also enjoyed The Departed and The Prestige. Stranger Than Fiction was really good also, but 300 is in a league of its own
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"
