As it may be able to be assumed, I've adopted Vista as my full time OS...

WAY is determined to see me fail at this I'm sure, and jinxed me just this morning...We were talking about my apparent tech curse, and how much misfortune is involved with me and compters...As some of you may or may not know, for example, I lost 2 full servers in as many weeks, no warning, and of no fault of mine...

ANYWAY...

WAY is talking about a curse, and then hops off...I go fix coffee, and when I get back, I wriggle my mouse, my fishtank screen saver disappears, and then Vista goes to a black screen...I can still see and move my mouse, but black scren none the less...

Reboot...Same story...

Try to go to safe mode, same story...

I was starting at this point to wonder who the I killed in a past life to deserve such monstrous blockades in my daily progression...

So, in a 'here we go again' mode, I popped in my Vista DVD ready to format...But, when I loaded up, I noticed something...

M$ has revamped their repair console, and now offers several options...Hmm...Interesting...As I read what options I have, I choose the 'Auto repair' option...It diagnosed the issue, and proceeded to explain to me that several restarts of the procedure may be necessary...

I did that maybe twice...And Vista miraculously repaired itself...Nope, I didn't have to run a single command...Didn't loose a single file...I merely tucked my Vista DVD back into its sleeve and smiled...

WAY, you must try more of your black magic to convince me Vista isn't gold...

Ok vista does seem pretty good. I love the new look. I have installed AVG and FF on it as well as winRar, itunes and messenger. Up until now I have no problems what so ever.

Although Im going to install XP again and use dual boot but I doubt that I will be using XP much from now on.

My specs arent that great but my machine seems to be handling it very well.

These are my machine specs

Intel celeron M 1.7 ghz processor
512 mb ram
60 gig ATA hd.

Im running Vista business 32 bit

Deepak, keep in mind that even on the shittiest of comps, a clean insall will run like a gazelle...Give it a couple of days, after you've installed a few things and it starts doing its work, and you'll see...

Reason being, I wouldn't really run XP on those specs, so I'd be expecting your performance to tail off a bit...What is your Experience Index score..?

Its located @ Start > Control Panel > System

gms, man, I was much too impressed...I mean, by no means does it make it perfect, but I stand by the decision that Vista is a great OS, and will only get better...

LOL i know it will die out a bit later which is why im getting a flash drive 2 gigs to boost up the ram.

The graphics on this laptop is pretty shit. But other then that the index scores are average.

Processor 3.5
RAM 2.9
Graphics 1.9
Gaming graphics 1.0
Primary Hard disk 3.9

the base is 1.0 but thats because this machine wasnt designed for that or maybe the right drivers arent installed I dunno. But other then that i think it is average.
