Pressing question that's been weighing on me for a while... Can another person "kill" your spirit?

I don't think so.

And you can't sell your soul for $5 either, then rip it off for $45, like Milhouse did....

I think someone can ruin your spirit. I don't know about actually kill. It may just be semantics though
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Yeah. I want a little more info on what you mean by "kill" the spirit. If by killing the spirit, you are talking about someone abusing another person to the point that they are broken and without any sense of "self" then yes, that is possible. I've seen it. I've worked with people with that problem. But if you're talking about killing the spirit in the same sort of way that one kills a body, then I'm still riding the fence on that one.

Fill in the blanks for us. Give us some more meat to chew on.

The body needs to be dead before you can kill the spirit.

No more than that person making you jump in front of a moving bus... a person with strong convictions and beliefs will always rise above
their current circumstances.

Are you talking about faith or ones personal character and identity.I think each person would deal with it differently. Some people are fragil and than you have some one like John McCain who went through more than most could and look how well he turned out.

I agree, only someone stronger than me could break me....Haven't met that person yet...I do what I have to do to maintain if I feel my spirit is threatened...
