first time i looked at it,.. i actually wrote something similar in a short story, I was writing how each of the animals in the Chinese Zodiac had a concept like the year, as related to their animal natures.
very cool metaphor. I used the tree, because it was consistent with Chinese imagery, and the world of man as a tree is a ancient concept found on every continent.
