Just think about it lol. We are moving around, we just have empty pc shells and u just put in that disc and wallah, you are up and running, u take all your programs and all your data with you all the time. Better have a back up!! lol

Considering how long it is taking Blue Ray and the other one (HDDVD or something) to come out (not to mention holographic discs that were meant to be out ages ago), a good high capacity data storage/backup solution seems a long way off.

Regarding those holographic discs, they already ('supposedly') have prototypes that do hold the 50TB..
But again, it's all theory, including this one..

It's a great idea and possibly practical, but the need for space is always evolving, only 6 years ago 30GB harddrives were revolutionary........
