Heeellloooooo everyone!
I am looking for a program that will detect duplicate images and present them in a bulk, nonetheless decent, manner. I've tried Dup Detector that Father AYHJA suggested butt(SHAKIRA!) for some reason it seemed a little... "slow" because here I have to deal with a couple of thousands of files (i.e. Alley Baggett's directory...) and if I see all them one by one, I'll NEVER finish going through the archive...
So basically I'm looking for alternatives  Anyone got any idea ? Thanks a lot !!!!
Duplicate image detector...

I.. I'm talking about identical files, yes.
I want to eliminate double pictures (maybe of a different bytesize or pixelsize) but the problem is that I need something a little massive.
W...what do you have in mind ???

Check out PicCheck or now called The!Checker: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepage ... ccheck.htm
I haven't used it in ages but I recall it was pretty nifty for organising photos and weeding out dupes.

You know you can set DupDetector to auto delete, eh..? Set the percentage range to something like 95%, and let it fly...I usually would do the first few deletions manually, to make sure it's doing good, and then let the auto mode do the rest...
But if that doesn't work, Thumbsplus also has a duplicate detector fuction, depending on the precise nature of what I'm doing, I've never had an issue using a combination of the two...But thumbsplus is a database driven program, so if you found dupdetector slow, thumbsplus won't be any different me don't thinks...

BlindG, I just noticed you were looking into organising your Alley Baggett sets. I recall there was a newsgroup dedicated to Alley where the members put together a CSV file on a regular basis that people could use to organise their sets.
(A CSV file can be used by PicCheck to rename files, find duplicates, put files in ordered and named directories. It does this by creating a "unique" hash for each picture file.)
I used to have some old ones (CSV's) around when I collected Alley, but stopped ages ago. It was invaluable for ordering the sets. Do a newsgroup search for Alley and I'm sure you'll find the group - it was pretty active.
If you are into site ripping and want some CSV's to organise your stash (using PicCheck), google for "el toro csv" - the URL is: http://eltoro.lindesign.se/ but seems to be down right now.

zaphodz, thanks for the suggestion butt(SHAKIRA!) I'd need to start learning about how to use CVSs and at this point I don't have the time, since I'm devoting any free time into learning a bit of linux....
hahahahahaha thanx for the search emanon /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Tried duplicate finder but it was.... not what I was looking for /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
