Synopsis:
John Rambo, an aging ex commando, is terrorized by a band of young men who relentlessly cross his yard to get to school. When screams of, "Get off the lawn!" do nothing to deter the disregarding trespassers John gives chase with his cane. When Rambo trips and skins his knee, the young men have drawn first blood. From there the teeth come out, and into a glass on the nightstand. Don't miss Rambo IV: Get Off My Lawn!

I'll say this...
Rocky was all bullshit from the jump...It was 100% Bravado...What killed Rocky Balboa, is the fact that Sly was doing too much talking...He may not ever get his due, but Sly was THE action movie hero for a long ass time...He has played in some good films...
As long as they limit the acting...And just make sure Sly is blowing shit up the whole time, gutting comies and such..? It'll be much better than folk will want to give it credit for...
I'm not seeing it at the movies either, but then again, that's not saying much, lol...With todays special effects capabilities, bigger and better guns (The 50 cal at point blank..?!?!?) and what not, this is definite rental shit...

I agree with this. As long as he doesnt have to act much it might turn out to be a decent action flick

I say they call this
John Rambo : Peacenicks, wake the @#$% up!
I love the trailer and love the premise:
Some sad little group of protesters go to Myanmar (or "Burma" if you will) and hope to make a difference with medical supplies the natives would never trust and blogspots full of email petitions collecting paypal donations. They obviously never studied about the human atrocities that are commonplace in Southeast Asia, especially on the mainland, and never considered that if you can not commit those atrocities yourself (but choose not to), then you will never EVER survive to make a difference. They get their lilly-smellin asses in a sling, and the only white man with a body count in the area has to try and take care of the mess, and might get some of them out alive, if he feels like it. I'm sure they will overplay the leverage the govt. has over Rambo, but that is because in the REAL world, a man like John Rambo would know the world is not suffering from a shortage of captain planet carebear boyscouts in militarized zones trying to sew their fingers back on from when their "peace sign" was met with a good swing of a machete.
I say this should go in the "nature" section, under the subtitle "obvious".
and I think it will be a good action flick. As far as Rocky, it just doesn't have the same feel, and that is why I never saw Rocky. Rocky in this new movie was trying to prove something, because of all of his other hardships. He was trying to get back, and the only way that culd happen is a complete disregard for every aspect of boxing as a sport.
This is Rambo, His sport is war. He finally got his solitude, where his ability and penchant to kill is a perfect part of his life. He had to go to southeast asia to do it, the place where he had to learn more about the world and himself than any burb of any american city. He steers clear of where the natives vainly seek to control populations, from a position of no self control. He knows he could kill them all but five, and it would still never stop each of the five survivors from fighting for control over the other four; because human nature can only be controlled from within. And those who control it, know there is a time for every aspect of it to manifest. He is the perfected form of the raw force he was in the first movie in its perfect environment.
and oh, does it look like he manifests some whoop-ass, rip-throat, 50 calibur, gut spillin Mysteries of the human soul!
About the only issue I have is his hair... there is just no reason a person in southeast asia would want long hair, because the area is lice ridden, it would tangle in the extremely abundant foilage, it would not dry fast enough for the frigid nights, and longer the hair the faster it falls out in pieces that could be found and used to track you.
