Monday Night Football Commentary Team

#1

Post by NotFunny »

Is it just me or are Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski and Tony Kornheiser the worst crew in the history of NFL broadcasting. For the last two weeks I muted the sound, it was either that or throw a brick through the screen, these morons just never shut up with the non stop babble.
Seems to me Sunday Night Football's become the big show, Al and John know how to let the action speak for itself, less is more. I never understood why ESPN dumped the old crew, Paul McGuire busting Theismann's balls was ear candy, I'll never forget his comment that Joe's head was so big that they couldn't find a coffin large enough to fit it.

Another Howard Stern wannabe.....sigh :bomb:

I don't know I guess I just don't sit through an entire Monday night game long enough for them to bother me. I think it's more the team selection that bothers me each week, it seems like it's either Green Bay, Pittsburgh, or Philadelphia in every Monday or Sunday night game. So I channel surf.

I never really listen to the commentators anyway...I usually don't care who they have in the booth; why put guys in the booth doing color that have never played the game..? As long as the guy calling the game does a good job, I somehow manage to ignore the stupid shit said in the meantime...

Not sure about the worst... IMO, Dennis Miller was over the top horrible that he drags down any MNF group he could be in.

Besides I like Tirico and Jaws, but yeah, Not big on Kornheiser. Like him on PTI (when he's there) but not so much on MNF. Madden is another story. I used to like the guy, but lately I find him kinda irritating. Probably because at his older age, he gets a little too excited and you can't understand all his mumbles.... and seriously, Brett Farve is not that good anymore. In fact, he was never as good as Madden thinks he is....

The thing I hate about MNF is all the extra computer graphics they use on replays and sometimes on live plays. Do we seriously need a green line showing the exact path that the RB took? Why can't we just watch the play and see it for ourselves! They go way overboard on computer graphics
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Yeah, I don't pay attention as much either... I usually am too caught up in other things, but I find myself settling in once the two humongous flying helmets clash. beyond that, I am tuned into what the referee says, and what the action on the field is. I guess it goes to show that the MNF commentary isn't anything worth remembering. :p

Now see I loved Dennis Miller. I think his jokes were just over the MNF crew's head in most cases. But I dug it.
