Some quotes from these...Panelists...

"Principles matter...Lower taxes, strong national defense, traditional marriage, and free market solutions..."

"McCain has been in leadership positions before..."

"I don't think he can get everything done he talks about...I feel like he's a motivational speaker..."

Damn, I almost puked...

No American, black or white, can afford to be this goofy about these issues...It upsets my stomach when I hear anyone spew out shit like that...

Who the fuck has time to care about shit like 'same sex marriage' and 'free market solutions' in this day in age..? Not me...

Despite what you think, these are not "issues", they are VALUES. These men have strong values, and despite what you might think, many people will live with half the food in their belly that they get now to preserve their values. I PERSONALLY admire that. I don't agree with religiously regressive values, but I DO agree that values are important, and they are more important than issues. I don't care what you have in life, if you don't have presence of mind to control your fears, and the knowledge of self that is only found in facing and overcoming hardship,.. you are poor.
Who the fuck has time to care about shit like 'same sex marriage' and 'free market solutions' in this day in age..? Not me...
Ok, so your in pretty deep waters now. What are you doing about it TODAY? What are you doing to learn how to swim in these new waters? What do you know about where, when, and how to find your opportunity. There is opportunity everywhere, but more in some places than others.

I am assaulted by job offers. I got three departments in one company fighting for me. I got five companies that want to talk to me before even getting my resume. Everyone I know personally is a good worker, who is well qualified and experienced, who is on a track of continual professional education, who is financially responsible and moderately conservative about their own finances, and who BELEIVES in themselves as the key to their success, and not a govt. so large that it has no visibility of them. Everyone I know is getting ahead, even when the ship is supposedly sinking. BECAUSE WE KNOW HOW TO SWIM.

Sure, 401k is in the shitter, investments are up in the air, but you know what,.. that's the system vomiting up all that fake money since FDR took us off the gold standard to beat the Great Depression. And This, too, shall come to pass.

and yes, we have time, money, and presence of mind to know that VALUES are what will win this election, cause not a damn one of the persons who claim to be concerned about the issues can really voice both sides of them. The only way to survive hardship and smile is know your values, be true to your values, and LIVE YOUR VALUES, whatever they may be.

I don't have a single value that I will preserve if my stomach is hurting...Not one...If I'm starving...And a gay guy gives me a sandwich and a cup of water, fuck a value...So, just like you respect them for holding on to their hunger in light of a value, respect me for having the guts to get rid of mine...It takes an equal amount of will to do either...

On top of that...

Give me one good reason...Why I should give a damn...If two men want to get married...Just one...How can shit like same sex marriage...Mean ANYTHING to me...? You call that shit values...I call it mind your own business...

Learn how to swim..? I know how to swim, what its like and all that...Man, I'm looking for a BOAT...You can keep swimming if you want...I've had a career, not a job, since I was 17 years old...Of course if I wanted a job I could get one...How about, you quit your job and start a company...Then we can talk about navigating water...

I have values that have fed me in a time where I was without food. I am not saying their values are admirable; but that their conviction is. For the record, my understanding of their values on traditional marriage was more about preserving the family unit. I also don't know how hungry they are. I was speaking of them voting their values, not starving for them.
On top of that...

Did this really just become about homophobia to you for a reason? Michael (in the middle) is the only one that said anything about marriage, and he said "Traditional Marriage" was a principle of the values he is voting on, along with Strong economic principles.

I quit my career and started my own business, ran up my own business working 80 hours a week, made up to 90k a year for two years after two years kinds rocky, and then broke because California energy crisis killed residential power supply, where my business was based. I lost everything. Oh well. So, I took that and went to work in the energy industry, across the entire country. I know how to navigate. I have been working to help make ends meet since I was nine laying brick in the summers for food and school supplies. i don't need a boat - I can make one from scratch, and done it three times in this life already.

And if someone EVER asks me to compromise who I am to eat, I'll swallow rocks before I do something i don't believe in!

Man, you're the one that put these 3 square, shallow ass dudes up here for us to talk about, don't knock me cause they ain't got no depth...When dude asked him a question, that's what he said...All of them gave these really broad, non specific reasons as to why they feel the way they do, and the best knock against Obama was that he was 'like a motivational speaker' and that 'he not going to be able to do everything he say he's going to do'...

Can someone get that motherfucker a V8 and a presidential campaign cliff notes version..? Name one president that has done everything they said they were going to do when they were campaigning...Fuck that, how much shit around here do I want to get done and haven't for whatever reason..? You get on national TV...And this is what you say..? Some bullshit..? Is he for real..? Man, he can't be...

And he is shallow cause he votes his values not his skin color? That was what CNN was reporting. That was the point, CNN was like OMG These black guys aren't voting for the black guy!!! "Don't you feel like sell outs?" I didn't get that a one of these guys was shallow. The talk about economic issues was clarly more prominent than issues of religious morals. Which I will note was never addressed in criticism.
All of them gave these really broad, non specific reasons as to why they feel the way they do, and the best knock against Obama was that he was 'like a motivational speaker' and that 'he not going to be able to do everything he say he's going to do'...
No the best knock against him was they don't believe in his proposed plan for presidential action. They do not stand for him, or what he wants to do to this country. And they didn't need to slam him to call his ability to enact the change he is rallying for into question.

In one thread you come up and say you don't know much or care much for politics, and then you criticize them because you precieve the same of them? I felt like what they said was pretty confident. What I was upset with was the obvious racism tones in treating blacks voting for McCain like an anomoly or sell outs, when at least 30% of blacks will still vote for McCain. - including prominent leaders of the Black community in some areas.
