I do believe it's possible to love more than one person at a time in an intimate way. Polygamy was the norm for most of ancient history and is still practiced in many parts of the world. In our Western culture, it's not acceptable to "be in love" with more than one person at a time, so we have "serial polygamy" where the person goes from one relationship to another.
Interesting thread! Welcome!

Though not as common in history, it would apply just as equally to a woman with 2 or more husbands as it does to a man with 2 or more wives.

I'd say that as long as everything is on the up and up, that everyone knows everyone and understands the dynamics, then it is OK. It's when you are going behind the back of one person to be with another that's wrong. In true polygamy, everyone is under one roof so there is no "cheating".

I believe that you can't have two people that you connect with on every level.....at the same time.
In order to truly "connect" with someone you have to be focused on that person and adding in someone else would distract that focus.
In order to be "in love" with a person you have to be able to devote everything you have (emotionally) to that person. If you spend time with your second love, trying to do the same thing it would mean you're negleting your first love.

I look at it from a historical and modern day point of view...Do not take more than you can handle...If it is a greed based standpoint, then I don't think it's "right" persay, but then again, right and wrong are such RELATIVE standpoints...
I personally realize every person has their limits, and someone that is comfortable with themselves may truly be alright with such things...For instance, if you HATE going to the movies, and it makes you uncomfortable, would you be mad if your wife had a guy that she went to the movies with..?
You shouldn't..! I don't think that means that you love that person any less, or that you're a bad person....If you've expressed and communicated your want with your significant other, and they give you the green light, why not...?
Like, in the bible, Abraham knew that his wife couldn't get pregnant, so his wife allowed him to knock up her best handmaiden...Now if THAT ain't love, I don't know what is...
He may not have loved the handmaiden like he did his wife (the bible describes her as being a dime brizzel even into her 90's) but he did hit it...I think the rule in more "civilized" cultures is that you take what you can handle...
Thats what I'm sticking with, cause that's what I believe...
And welcome to the forum, masturbation, hahaha, you shouldn't have ANY problems with having more than one mate..!
