Could have just told me Lucy Lawless would be in it, and I would have watched it for that...But a weekly 300+Gladiator series..? I'll be on time for that...

It was a great first season. One of the best series I have seen since Sopranos.

The second season has been delayed due to Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) coming down with cancer. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I have been watching this show too and I've loving it! My friend told me about it a couple weeks ago and I'm hooked. I'm finishing downloading the rest of the episodes right now.

You guys keep raving about Erin Cummings, but Viva Bianca (Ilithyia) is smoking hot! She is completely intoxicating....

I agree. Viva Bianca is quite hot.

Check out tehparadox.com. There are plenty of DDL links there for Spartacus, both 720p and HDTV.

Illness of Star Prompts ‘Spartacus’ Prequel

By BRIAN STELTER; Compiled by DAVE ITZKOFF
Published: May 12, 2010

While the actor who plays the title character in the Starz drama “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” undergoes cancer treatment, the channel will produce a six-episode prequel to the series. Starz said Tuesday that the prequel is now in pre-production, with a tentative premiere date of January. Andy Whitfield, right, who plays Spartacus, has non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma; he will appear “in a limited capacity” in the prequel, Starz said, and the focus will be on two other characters from the show’s first season, played by Lucy Lawless and John Hannah. The Starz president and chief executive, Chris Albrecht, said that Mr. Whitfield was “responding to his treatments,” and that “as soon as he’s able, we look forward to continuing the Spartacus story.”
