Look at any object around you..

Does it really exist?

Or does it just seem to exist, similar to a dream, because your physical senses tell you it exists?

When we die, we will not know our 5 senses anymore, correct?

If so, doesnt that mean anything we perceive with those senses is simply an illusion?

I read and studied plenty of that kind of thing, but it never hit me as a point to ponder over...I believe in the power, individuality, and relativity of the human mind as a whole...

If something exists, it is because my mind says that it does...

And to answer your question, I believe my death will be an ascention and not a decention....

Yes in a way, but God gave us this world to live in now. I believe that He wants us to put our time here to the best use possible.

I don't think what we see is all an illusion. I believe that we still will have our 5 senses when we die and move on, but not in the way we think. We will be able to use them in whole different ways

I don't believe that I am in the Matrix, which is what the topic suggests to me.

I go by my physical senses.

AYHJA, you have said it yourself, pefection consists of nothingness..

During times of meditation and prayer, you are usually completely unaware of your physical senses, right? That has been my experience..

If you could not see, hear, taste, touch, or smell...in what way could you sin?

I think these things are neccessary to prepare our minds for eternity, but we must become aware that we do not need them nearly as much as we rely on them before we can begin to move in the right direction..

I THINK I kind of understand what you're saying...Hmm...I think you have a bit of a run in with two ideas that don't necessarily tie in together...

Perfection IS nothingness...As in 0, complete and total darkness, emptiness, etc...But, when I am meditation, I am very aware of my senses, cause it is not the world the changes, just my perception of it, so to speak...If you can dig it, think of why offensive coordinators sit in the skyboxes of football fields, rather than on the sidelines...

We haven't even really begun to discuss the depths of the word "Sin" so, we can leave that alone now, or maybe start a new topic...I think we hit up on that though, on the old forum...

So, I'm not sure how you are tying sin into the equation, or what is the purpose of it...It is my understanding that sin is man made...

When I meditate, I am aware of my senses also. Sometimes I'm actually more aware of my surroundings than when I'm not meditating. Sometimes I dont' know anything that goes on. It different almost every time. It's wierd like that. YOu can't pin-point what's going to happen
