Rock Band vs Guitar Hero

I've decided that I've got to get one of these games until my real stringer gets here...Naturally, when the Beatles Rock Band came out earlier this month, I was intrigued...

Is there anyone here who has played both, and can recommend one..? Or does it matter really..?

I have played both and neither are worth it. Just get a novice guitar and lean to play real music, and use the change to buy a case of beer to nurse you through the learning. These are 200 dollar versions of simon with new controllers. You remember simon, right? If you get one, buy Rock Band. Guitar Hero sucks, and so does Activision.

In my experience, GH is a little bit harder, RB is a little more user pick-up-and-play friendly.

I think the edge has to go to GH though because of the sheer number of games and content they release.

I've never been a huge Beatles fan, but I'm definitely thinking about copping that new one.

Totally agree with Romualdo, i've seen adds selling a guitar controller for that Guitar Hero stuff, if i could buy a Rally car for the same amount of a wheel controller for Collin McRae i would go for the real thing! ... i really don't like these kind of games maybe that's why i cant understand the all the hype eiher.

Does the fascination with GH and RB undermine real musicianship?

I've heard people make that statement before, but those were girls who play clarinet in the small ass pep band at my school....what do you guys think?

Any person who plays an instrument will notice that these games have nothing to do with musicianship, and after all it's just a game nothing to worry about.

Remember, I have a 7 year old... ;)

There are things he can learn about music and being in a band from playing a game like this...Getting something we can play together would be fun, and it might also teach him a thing or two about coordination...I'm more into this as a 'family fun' type of experiment than I am really rocking out...

But you gotta admit fap, the Gretsch weireless controller for Beatles rock band is secsi..!
