Inception
Aside from a couple questions that arose near the end of the movie for me (which I won't even mention until a few other people have seen it) I thought this was one of the best movies I've seen.
It's got enough science fiction to remain intriguing to the gifted minds that populate this site while also having enough emotional appeal and story to carry it and make it enjoyable and interesting in its own right, if you're not in the mood to think, or aren't particularly engrossed by the futuristic technology. All of this is made better because of the beautiful and simply awesome scenes and effects throughout the movie. Really a joy to watch. I could give you the entire plot of the movie, all spoilers included, and you'd probably still enjoy the hell out of it.
And it's definitely worth a second (and maybe third + ) watch.

Re: Inception
Glad you said something, I'll probably check it out this weekend so I can have something to say about it in this thread...Been wanting to check it out since I saw the trailer so long ago...

Re: Inception
I watched this last week. Never saw this thread until now. Great film though. Expectations are always high from a Leonardo DiCaprio film and he does not disappoint here at all.
It is better to try and fail than to fail to try.

Re: Inception
OK, I saw it....And I'm ready to speak spoilers...
I thought it was a good film, aimed at an intelligent audience...But having said that, for the over average, near genius viewer (that's me :D), it ended up not leaving enough to the imagination...
Good movie, great idea, but may have been too complex to execute for guys like me...

Re: Inception
Sounds very much like a Chris Nolan film going off what Ube said: High concept, near great execution.. but with plotholes which were overlooked by the director in favour of telling the greater story. Much like The Dark Knight really.

Re: Inception
Great movie!
Agree there were a few holes and uncertainties. Also I thought the ending was super cheesy, no need.
But I was impressed with Leo's performance & i think if you try not to pick it apart too much and gloss over the cracks it's more enjoyable.

Re: Inception
It's hard not to pick apart Nolan's work due to the themes & subject matter he tackles. So far, only The Prestige & Memento have no flaws. Both his Batman films have holes and definitely the lackluster Insomnia. I have yet to peep Inception, but it's sounding a bit shaky now..

Re: Inception
Never seen Memento, but The Prestige is def. one of the best movies that I've ever seen...But yeah, this is a movie for intelligent viewers, makes it very hard to just enjoy it as mindless fun...I know for me, once I decided there was something that I needed to be thinking about or remembering, I couldn't stop...

Re: Inception
I had no complaints with the movie. To me I saw it as Nolan making his Matrix movie.
