SAW Series

It seems to me that most people who have watched the SAW series fall into one of four categories.

1. Only saw the first and/or second and stopped watching out of disinterest.

2. Hated all of them/the ones they've seen.

3. Loved them for the most part, really involved in the story.

4. Only liked the gore.


Up until this last one, SAW 3D, I was actually in the 3rd category. Sure, I enjoyed all the gore, but I really was compelled by the story that powered the whole franchise. I was more than a little disappointed with how the last one went. The movie pretty much abandoned all semblance of a coherent plot and just went entirely with senseless gore. It was so bad, I think it may have tainted the entire franchise for me. I honestly don't know if I can even enjoy the ones I used to knowing that it all culminates in such a shitty finale.


Anyone else watch any of the movies?

Yes, I have seen them all.

Your numbered list is stupid though. It could apply to ANY movie/series. Only watched one or two and was disinterested? Hated them all? Loved them all? That's like any group of movies (trilogy, etc) that has ever been made.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound rude but your four categories aren't well thought out. It makes no sense.

I said people fall into one of four categories about this series...

You come in and say that those categories can exist for every single movie series ever made.

Then you say...my list is stupid and makes no sense.

How exactly is it stupid? How does it make no sense?

I essentially posed that people:

1. Didn't care/didn't watch them all

2. Didn't like them

3. Liked them for the story/plot

4. Liked them for the gore.

I mean...what doesn't make sense or is "stupid" or about that?

Just that it's obvious? You really went out of your way to make a post on here telling people that my list is obvious? I wasn't trying to break some ground with a new philosophical proof about movie going/viewing... I'm trying to see what other people thought about the series.

The question at the end has an implicit follow up of "what did you think?" given that I offered my opinion on the series.

I know you understood the point of the thread...but I don't understand why you're feigning confusion to try to make me look bad....?

Please accept my apology. I didn't mean to come off like an ass on that.

I'm just saying, what your options were are just....normal for ANY movie.

Anyway, I thought for their budget that they were quite good.
