That's right:

Elderly men and women with a history of mild-to-moderate drinking may experience less mental decline over time than seniors who do not consume alcoholic drinks, study findings suggest. The findings imply that mild-to-moderate alcohol consumption may play a role in helping preserve cognitive function.

Drink up, you straight-edgers, and blow a spliff every once in a while to keep away the skurvvy,..

Wish I could have a beer every day with lunch... but banks tend to frown at their employees coming back to work smelling of alcohol, no matter the amount. So, I wait until I get home, have a beer or a finger or two of scotch (straight up by the way, no diluting the good stuff).

After my first kidney stone (I've given birth to 7 of the little bastards) my doctor told me to drink a beer a day to keep them from coming back. I didn't believe it. Now I do (like I said, it took 7 of those bad boys to get it into my head). It's also been shown that the blood thinning effects of alcohol in moderation can help stave off heart attacks and strokes.

It's what's good for the body and soul!

Yea...I've heard that drinking a little bit can actually be good for you. I've heard that red wine is the best but what do they know....
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Soren Kierkegaard

actually red wine CAN be, but only good quality. the sulfites in cheap red wine make it a bad gamble for good health.
