This stumped me, so I thought I'd get some opinions, and I didn't want to junk up the chatter. lol
I need a colour that represents power, strength, confidence, but there also has to be a faint weakness.
I was thinking of going with red, but red is more on the sexual side of power. Purple is on the mystical side of power, so now I'm left with yellow.
Yellow isn't really a "power" colour, but it represents confidence and eloquence and intellect.
But would a yellow dress look good on a girl with blonde hair?
Colours that represent power

It depends highly on the shade of yellow choosen and how blond the girl is.....

Good point. Blonde like this:
As for the dress, I'm not entirely sure. Not something this bright... ...but also not something so pale it almost looks white.

red = power and ambition. active
blue = power and wisdom. firm
yellow = power and compassion. steady.
look at the agression inherent in the spectrum of color. red has the most violent frequencies. blue has the longest, and yellow has the most balanced.

That's another reason why I didn't want to use red, it's too aggresive.
When I was reading about blue, I was getting a different definition than yours, but I like yours better, and I think blue might be better for the scene. It's more calm; yellow seems too bright, too confrontational. Though the scene is powerful and aggressive, it's also calm because it's between two people who share a special bond; it's not an argument between two people about whether or not Bush is a failure.
So, I think I might go with blue, perheps a darker blue.

I think that for this hair color blue is the correct colour to choose.
Allthough I myself like to see Purple on a girl with this hair color.
