Battle of the Sexes: Driving
LG and I have always had a bit of a debate on whether or not women were worse drivers than men... According to him, women do too many other things while driving and are all around worse behind the wheel. In my opinion, men can be just as poor as women (though I'll admit their sense of direction is better in most cases).
And for the record, I started this because Shirley Manson is taking her drivers test this weekend and while I was posting about it, I was reminded of how much I suck at driving; NOT because of LG's recent accident (which shouldn't factor into this debate because it was an accident, not an indication of anyone's driving skills in general).

well statistically, women get into more car accidents in a ratio to how many of them drive. that has been proven time and time again. and i have to say, girls do quite a lot of things other than looking at the road when they're driving. ive never seen a guy try to paint his nails while driving. or put on makeup of any sort. girls talk on a phone more than guys do, and the same holds for in the car. now im not saying that guys cant be bad drivers. because that is most def. VERY possible. ive seen it plenty of times. but if you just compare the raw facts, i think that LG has been proven correct.
and i just wanted to put a theory out there that i made up and find quite amusing:
the difference between teeange drivers, and adult drivers are not that teens are terrible drivers. there are plenty of adult drivers who are terrible at it too. its just that teenagers dont care that they're bad drivers, and they oftentimes do it for fun. /:D" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt=":D" />

Hands down chicks are the worse drivers...My mom AND my girl will admit to that shit...We all get ready to go on a family vaction, I drive the entire way there, and the entire way back...No doubt about it...If I get tired, we get a room, LoL...They might sit back in the cut and talk all kind of shit about its too fast and this and that, but when I start to pull over, and ask them if they want to drive, that shit quiets down...
Girls just have too much shit going on man...And with the cell phone, it gets worse...Somebody posted some pics in the forum once, a chick driving down the road with the damn gas pump still in the tank, a chick that had drove into a swimming pool...Just crazy shit....

Well....statistically speaking...guys get in more accidents.....so that is the female's only basis.....that of course doesnt factor in the fact that men drive a TON more......its basically like....a girl drives for a mile and gets in an accident...a guy drives for 500 miles and gets in 2......yeah...the guys get in more accidents...but the frequency of them is so much smaller it proves that woman are worse.....I think men just innately are better at driving...and tend to like to drive more than women...My mom's a very capable driver...but on family vacations...even if its in my mom's car....my dad is driving...i think its just how it goes

I don't know about statistics, but I've seen quite my share of road accidents. Seriuos ones have almost always involved male drivers. I do not believe that such makes male drivers worse than our female counterparts. Every morning I see as many males on the phone as females. Of course only female drivers put on makeup, but I'd be willing to bet anything that if males used it too, they'd be as many putting it on while driving.
I also know that males like to show off more and drive more recklesly because of that (which probably acounts for what I stated in my second sentence). That about compensates for the lack of attention females have while putting on makeup or whatever. I know as many bad female as male drivers. There is no difference.

The scariest driver I ever saw was when I was on a business trip to Columbia, SC. Driving down I-26 I saw a guy with the Wall Street Journal held by his left hand on the steering wheel, a cell phone propped between his right shoulder and ear, and with his right hand he was taking notes on one of those little notepads some people (idiots) have on their dashboard. He was doing 85 mph in a 65 (OK, so I was going that fast too, but I wasn't doing all that other shit) and weaving all over the place. I pulled off, got a soda and then continued on my way praying that he'd gotten off the highway somewhere.

LMAO...Man, I would have been TOO furious at his multi tasking while driving...i definitely would have wanted to kick his ass when he got outta the car...
He's probably a lazy prick when he's not driving too, which makes it worse...He's on the freeway trying to look all busy cause he was laying on his ass the entire weekend...

Dude, at that moment I was too terrified that this idiot asshole was on the highway with me to be angry with him. That came as I'm sitting in the Jiffy Store parking lot drinking my Coke realizing that because I didn't want to get in an accident with this guy, I put myself 15 -20 minutes later in getting back to the wife and kids that I haven't seen all week. That pissed me off!
