Re: Anyone here have a PS3?
You're right about that, unrealistic is the word I'd use...In an era where DVD's are being sold for $10, most of the Blu Ray discs I've seen are $40 or better, even the used Blu Ray's are not much less...I'll be waiting for the truck to fall off the road if you know what I mean...

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?
Its always the way with new(ish) technology and no competition (HDDVD).
I'd be inclined to rip a blu-ray disc into a ps3 playable format to fit on one dvd. That way I'd be able to watch it on the big screen (via ps3) or my laptop if the need arose. The trouble is blu-ray pc drives are still unrealistically expensive.
When I get some spare time, I'm going to experiment with encoding 1080i/p content into a ps3 playable format.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?
1080i/p files are insanely huge. The ones I have so far are some random national geographic documentaries but there are some that are ~3.5gb and it's a .mkv file. I'm not sure if I'm patient enough for that to convert to .avi for my ps3.
