I am getting better about this...I'm usually tinkering w/my roster first thing on Tuesday now...Loosing sucks ass..! I'm not sure who I'm playing this week yet, but I hope to stay on my current streak...Starting the season on the bottom did horrible things to my already fragile ego...

I'm still working out how points are scored and things like that, but it won't be long before I'm sticking a finger in the wind and trying to siphon information from the football gods about what to do this week...The Giants have the Browns this week...Hopefully Plaxico will get on the Eli Express that's been running here of late and help my fantasy team to another win...
Well, since I kinda punted on my rookie season of fantasy football last year, I wanted to be more involved and a better sport at the competition. Bragging rights might not mean much to some, but it is fun nonetheless with friends who love the thrill of the game.

After only playing about six weeks of it last year in a single league, I rejoined that league and have been very competitive in it, although I am below .500 (My only losses came by a margin of six of less fractional points, yes in all three of my losses... ticks me off some). I am still gaining experience, and finding new resources for the game. I mean, this game has been popular for almost twenty years now, but thanks to the advent of the internet, it has blown up even more in recent years.

Hell, I found this site last night: http://www.fantasysp.com/nfl/

It's all meant to excite what happens every weekend in the NFL. :D

[P.S. don't put too much stock in Randle El, at least not until he sees at least seven balls come his way per game.]

I think the best thing to do is just trust in how good you think your guys are. There was a reason you drafted/picked-up them in the first place. Plus the ESPN league gives a lot of advice to team owners about matchups each week. A good place to start is to look at your team's "projection" tab. Next to the Overview-Stats-News-Projections-Schedule tabs above your roster. Almost every fantasy site gives you the same advice each week, with slight differences depending on league scoring and personal opinion. If you haven't noticed or used it yet, on the right side of our "League" page, there are links to ESPN's fantasy columnists' colums. IMO the most important one is Stephania Bell's weekly injury report. Gives you an idea to how serious a player's injury is and how it can affect his play.

As for scoring, just remember, yards are great and keep you close, but TD's get you wins.

Wasn't it you who figured this out a few pages back? I found out thanks to your cheat sheet, so you're just a bit hazy, but thanks. It also seems Tee is the only participant that didn't check in via this thread; I guess he didn't want to register to the forum when he was recruited to join the league.

It seems nightbytes owns 'Melo Maniac', and the poster formerly known as Mississippi Mental Patien, now identified as Chuckie-Doo, manages 'All-Pro Bowlers'.

Is it just a coincidence that both posters make references to their altered state of psychosis? :hypno:

Yeah I did do the cheat sheet but nobody confirmed or denied what I wrote so I just wasn't sure. Besides I was too lazy to go back and look up that particular post (ok that's the REAL reason).

Anyway let's not be so hasty about getting these guys back on the switch. I'm playing one of these absentee general managers this week and I need the win!

As for Tee he's still checking in on his team but yeah he never joined up over here I think mostly because he's a surgeon in England and doesn't have much personal time to gab on the internets.

CDRLMBAO! Dude, I feel you there...I would have otherwise gotten stomped last week, and my opponent in cruise control, I don't even think he had all his spots filled...And I STILL needed one of my players to come out so that I could win on Monday night...So...If they're absent...They just don't get no candy at the end of the season...

I gave those 2 guys ample time to become involved, but they both are still absent. Do any of you know someone who would be interested in taking over a team?

Hang on. All-Pro did make changes to his lineup this week, much to DL's dismay. He even picked up a player off waivers so he checked in at least this past week. I'd say that get's him a pass for now. Melo on the other hand was a no-show again, so what ever you decide w/ hit team goes I guess. I'll ask around and send you a pm if I hear anything.

Yeah, nightbytes it seems is missing in action. So, I tried to shop off the ghost team but not many of my friends wanted to bite, 'cause they have multiple teams as well.

Maybe you should just create a thread in the ESPN football message board saying that this 2-4 team is in a very competitive 8-team league with this current roster:

Donovan McNabb, Phi QB
RB Joseph Addai, Ind RB D
RB Larry Johnson, KC RB
RB/WR Maurice Jones-Drew, Jac RB
WR Marvin Harrison, Ind WR
WR Donald Driver, GB WR
TE Antonio Gates, SD TE
D/ST Seahawks D/ST, Sea D/ST
K Robbie Gould, Chi K
Bench Laurence Maroney, NE RB Q
Bench Darren McFadden, Oak RB
Bench Tony Gonzalez, KC TE
Bench Jay Cutler, Den QB
Bench Ricky Williams, Mia RB
Bench Felix Jones*, Dal RB O
Bench Alge Crumpler, Ten TE

I don't think an hour will pass before you have at least half-a-dozen hopefuls wanting to get in, I suppose.

I got a guy from my other league who said he's willing to join if we still need him, and if it's cool with everyone else in the league. So what's eveyone's feelings to that suggestion?
