He might not say it, but you got to think that Jeff Fisher feels like shit for sitting Vince Young the whole season and now they're 4-6...Now he has to do press conferences riding his jock strap...Say what you want, the proof is in the pudding, the team is better with VY, WAY THE FUCK BETTER, and he should loose some points as a coach for letting it digress this far...

From what I hear, Fisher has never been "big" on the subject of Vince Young... hell, just a few weeks ago I read an article that way back when, during the draft, being informed by his boss and the owner of the Titans that they were going to select VY as their top pick and QB, he protested the move quite vehemently, stating that it was "the wrong move and he wouldn't support it".

I'm impressed IO, reading the Boston papers to learn as much as possible for fantasy? You my friend are a demon!

Yeah Maroney may not be anywhere near a good runner but he is entertaining at his locker each week.

Well, those Thursday Thanksgiving games weren't very "filling"; each and and every one of them was a blowout affair.

26-6
27-7
34-12
(inverse order)

Yeah well how many years are we gonna be forced to watch some team anyteam beat the living piss outa Detroit? I mean it tis ridiculous that this team gets the honor of this game for whatever 40? 50? years now and have they ever once been a good enough team to deserve it? They have sucked my entire life and tradition or no it's time the NFL got away from having Dalas and Detroit host these games everyyear. They should take a handful of the better teams from the previous year that are scheduled to play each other in the coming season and play those three games on TGD.

For instance (I know I may be a little biased o the first one but..)

12:30 NE vs Indy

3:30 Minnesota vs GB

8:00 Tennesee vs Pittsburgh (yeah the Titans sucked for most of the year but last year they were great when this years schedule would be made)

How cool would having those three games played on turkey day be? Everyyear!! Different GOOD teams! No more fuckin Detroit and Dallas either (unless they are good enough (they are this year but Oakland..is not). eh?

Thanksgiving day isn't the BCS....tradition is tradition.

I don't even understand your point. What's the difference in having Det get killed on Thanksgiving as opposed to them getting killed the following Sunday?

Why is there some need to have great football played on Thanksgiving? Why not every Sunday? Football is football and any team can win on any day in the NFL. Tradition is more important than trying to set up games that may be entertaining...when there is no guarantee that the games you listed or any match up would be ultra competitive or better than any other ones.

Besides as a Bear's fan....I enjoy watching Detroit get pounded every year.

Drew do you go outa your way to try and get in arguments with everyone?

What is the difference between watching Detroit on Thanksgiving and watching them the following Sunday? Do I really need to explain myself on that one? Who the hell is going to be watching Detroit on Sunday if they played tomorrow? No one. Why? Because I have 12 more games to choose from. Even Detroit doesn't watch Detroit. Detroit sucks going on 40 years now.

That's why I said you pick teams out the previous year that did well and put'em up against each other. Kinda like how the League tries to set up MNF each year before the season starts with the two team matchup as the game of the week.

I mean I know you're a Bears fan and used to getting pounded and watching bad football but why should the rest of us suffer? Nyuck nyuck nyuck...

Sorry about that last one Ero. ;)

Haha....

*scratches DL off x-mas list...*

Putting the Bears fan thing aside, I agree with Drew. While I have no love for Dallas or Detroit I like the whole tradition thing. For Detroit it's a "showcase" thing. The fact that they kinda suck, even if they are much better w/o Millen, there is no way they are ever going to get any other "prime-time" games. Thus I can live w/ their one game every year on Thanksgiving. And since the game is on first thing in the morning here, I only half heartedly watch the game anyways. Besides it's much better than watching them on a MNF or the late game on Sundays.

Dallas on the other hand, JJ will never give up the spotlight of that game. Say what you want about better matchups, but that's why the NFL owners created the 3rd game (well that and money from the NFL network). And just how did that work out?

Games like Pats-Colts, Cowboys-'Skins, Pack-Bears will always get attention regardless of time slot, and most likely get one of the prime game times anyways. There is no need to find extra ratings for those games since most of those games will be shown on CBS/FOX nation wide other than local team markets.

Because I disagree with your point I'm trying to get in arguments with everyone? How exactly do you figure that? And you're the one who has taken shots at other people's teams... it would seem the other way around if we're talking about getting in arguments... I disagreed with your point...you took a shot at my team and assume I must love bad football..

But if we can get back the topic...

You said it yourself....if no one is ever going to watch Detroit any other time of the year...then they deserve to at least get the Thanksgiving game that they've gotten forever..... what's your beef with it? I just don't see a good reason to change the tradition and you haven't really provided one...
