Cripe this would be so cool as a movie! This animation has to be used for a full fledged movie series on the Old Republic. Annnnnd without much George input thank you.

WHOA! OMFG! How come a damn trailer for a game is better than anything Georgie gave us in those dam prequels?!?..

Gonna think of that shit now when I watch the unaltered original trilogy & I hear Alec Guinness talkin' about the The Republic to Luke. Not the fuckin' prequels.Something Star Wars has finally washed the bad taste of them outta my mouth.

Same here! I'm color blind so between that and the cost of that crap I gave it up some time ago but these little commercials for the games are unreal. They look more interesting than the last couple movies and a HELL of a lot more interesting than the present cartoon (No offense Ube). I really think they will make one of these into a movie in the next 10 years.

HA!!! I know I cringe now when I hear him talking about the clone wars. I used to get so excited thinking about the possibilities. Two weeks ago I was watching the original with my niece and explaining to her what was going on and she asked me what the Clone Wars were and I got a tear in my eye and told her never to ask me about them again.

Dude, there will never be anything as awesome and awe inspiring as Star Wars...A movie made in that way would be the highest grossing shit of all times, I'm sure of it...That's as bad ass a trailer as the first one, if not better...Star Wars was made for that, fuck actors, just have full animation of that caliber...I know it would take forever though, I was doing some reading and saw that it can take the Pixar server farm 7 hours to render a single frame for their films...No telling how long that couple minutes long trailer took to make...

Not even gonna touch the fact that baby girl blocked a light saber with her fucking hand, that's awesome...

What Über-san said.

I've wondered why a "mere" game company can achieve CG in its trailers that's markedly better than that in any Pixar movie. The conclusion I came to is that a game trailer is one to two minutes, so proportionately more time and effort can be put into it than a similar-length section of a feature film.

What's surprising and (to me) a little disappointing is that they went with a somewhat cartoonish, fairly Clone Wars-esque visual style for the actual game. I would have much preferred that the game's style be fairly realistic, more like that of KotOR or Mass Effect... or of the Star Wars movies themselves (preferably the original trilogy).

It takes them a fair few years to make movies like Toy Story but they do it because it makes so much money. I guess the studios dont think a SW CG movie would make as much money. I'm not usre how much Avatar made but surely with a fanbase as big as SW it would be competing?

Yeah it probably would take some time to make one of these but at the same time if it looked this amazing and had a logical adult story to follow it would be huge! I mean the first Iron Man and Dark Knight movies made a fortune cause they had not just the marketing but great word of mouth. The last three Star Wars movies while I liked Revenge of the Sith had great marketing but shitty word of mouth and made a ton of money but could've been more if the stories were more coherent. So if they did one of these animation movies with this kinda realism and a great story and little interference from George I think it would be similar to Avatar. I think people are really dieing to see a great Star Wars flick again.

But did you guys notice that trailer had minimal dialogue & the story was still conveyed across? Maybe Lucas should make note of that instead of his badly written screenplays. Keep it minimalist & down to a 90 minute film. That's all we ask.
